Deborah Adams is a recognized expert in the field of health and wellness. She has over 25 years of experience working with and educating people on personal growth, stress management and body-mind awareness. Her experience began in performance arts, traveling with a dance troupe throughout the early 80’s before changing paths into health promotion and wellness at the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. Deciding to specialize in injury and muscle repair, she became a massage therapist and has over 20,000 hours of hands-on client massage experience.  In 1994, Deborah founded The Wellness Spa, Inc., which began as a 400 sq. ft. day spa that turned into a 10,000 sq. ft. health spa facility where she continues to train and educate her own staff on uniquely effective massage techniques and services she has created for therapeutic improvement and stress relief. Deborah won Entrepreneur of the Year in 1997 for her creation of The Wellness Spa and has been featured in a variety of magazines including the international “DAYSPA” magazine in 2005.

She is the Wisconsin Tai Chi instructor for the National Health Preservation Teacher Team and also a graduate of the Institute of Integral Tai Chi & Qigong where she continues to work closely with the director and her instructor Roger Jahnke OMD. Deborah shares the gift of Tai Chi to her community by offering a free class each week, but her main focus has been working with women and children. She frequently teaches at schools to very young children all the way up to college students, teaching them ways to deal with the stresses of life, school, and growing up. Her work with children lead her to write “The Horse, The Dragon and The 10,000 Things” as well as produce a corresponding DVD which gives children and adults a glimpse into ancient Chinese customs and an effective method and way of thinking to reduce stress, depression and anxiety.

Deborah created “Camp Goddess”, an empowering retreat for woman here in the U.S. as well as in Cancun, Mexico. Deborah was a featured monthly writer with Scene magazine for over two years; her column called ‘Living Wellness’ covered a variety of health tips and life-balance information. She also lectures throughout the mid-west to various professional organizations, corporations and schools, including teaching massage and Tai Chi at the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point as well as a guest instructor and consultant for spas and training schools.

Training as a facilitator for “Personality Resources International”, she is proficient in the “Four-Ways” personality assessment and guiding people toward a better understanding of themselves and others through interactive workshop and awareness sessions.

Deborah’s past included: training to become a professional dancer, flying ultralight aircraft and tail-dragger airplanes, driving her 750 Yamaha motorcycle, amateur body-building, marathon bicycle riding and extensive roller blading sessions. She traded much of the adventure sports in for some quieter time getting in touch with nature through gardening and kayaking, spending time with her daughters and family, enjoying writing and renewal sessions over a Chai Tea at Starbucks with her husband, and making time for movies, meditation, and the magic that happens when you spend time in the present moment.

Deborah is available for speaking engagements for a variety of audiences on many wellness topics – let her customize a program for your next event or business. Call toll free at 877.341.9772 or email info@deborahadams.net.
